Heather’s plan for revenge puts everyone’s lives in danger on the last ever episode of UNIversal….

Four months on from the events surrounding Lily’s revelation, a new lease of life has been breathed into the flat.

Tom and Sarah have moved on from the lies and secrets that kept them apart and are finally enjoying life as a couple. However, when Tom returns home to visit his best mate, and Sarah sets off to visit an old ‘friend’, their past soon comes back to haunt them in ways that they could never have imagined.

Julian and Elspeth finally realise how they feel about each other, but another fresh obstacle soon rears it’s head, which threatens any future they may have together; Lily soon forgets about her health issues when her new relationship faces a possible hurdle; and Ryan is left perplexed when a surprise he has for Lisa backfires.

As the group reel from Lily’s revelation, Tom works out the horrible truth about Heather, and various other secrets are finally revealed. With everyone drawn into the conflict, nothing will ever be the same for any of them in Lancaster…

Lily has found a new lease of life and is managing her condition, but when her brother Oliver pays her a visit, the truth about her illness risks being exposed. With Elspeth believing her brother is ill, and him noticing something the matter, Rosie reminds her that it is only a matter of time before the truth comes out. As she struggles to contain it any longer she is forced to finally come to terms with her fate.
Meanwhile, Lisa finally meets her mother again – but will the reunion go to plan? Chris is offered the chance for a fresh start, but with his heart still set on winning back Sarah, will he take it? Elspeth tries to help Julian through his problems, but can he ever get over Anastasia’s revelations? And as Tom prepares to leave Lancaster with Heather, it seems she has finally won. But does fate have other ideas for the pair?

Something has changed in Julian Cook, since returning to Lancaster there has been a change in him, and soon it starts affecting everyone around him. When a girl called Anastasia turns up on campus looking for him, Elspeth grows suspicious. When she hears a confrontation between the two she decides to investigate – but the truth leaves her stunned.

Meanwhile – Heather’s plan sets in motion, leading Tom into some serious trouble, and when Lisa interferes and Sarah becomes involved, he makes a major decision about his future in Lancaster; and following his recent rejection, Chris reverts to his dark past.

As Christmas dawns over Lancaster – Ryan and Lisa end up staying on campus, but their time together brings several surprises – and changes their University life completely.

Meanwhile, after being told by her doctor that her condition has worsened, Lily starts experiencing some unsettling side-effects; Chris refuses to give up on Sarah; Elspeth’s feelings for Julian grow, but she receives an unpleasant surprise when he returns to Lancaster; and Heather continues to fool Tom with her lies – but when she discovers his plan to spend the next year in America, a new dangerous plan forms…
